P7PF have just started their P7 data-handling topic.
We took a trip to the birdie walk and surrounding areas to collect data regarding different types of litter.
Pupils were split into groups and provided with litter pickers, bags and gloves. We then collected different types of litter including plastic, paper, cardboard and aluminium. Some of these were found in quite peculiar places!
We then discussed any trends we noticed from the data collected.
In class, we summarised our findings and found the total of each type of litter collected. We will now plot a bar graph to display our findings before going on to look at other displays of data such as Carroll and Venn diagrams.
This was an excellent way of combining our maths and eco-schools work!
