The children loved investigating symmetry and made great use of mirrors to determine if images had a line of symmetry.
In the world around us butterflies provide a great example of symmetry so the children attempted to create symmetrical patterns on butterfly printouts, with this overlapping nicely with some elements of our topic, Let's Get Growing.
Finally, the children had an opportunity to further investigate through practical play using Lego to create symmetrical patterns or models. They really enjoyed this and demonstrated some great understanding.
