Mrs Smith's class this week have really enjoyed celebrating Maths Week 2025!
They've been exploring math concepts both in and outside of the classroom by using practical activities that connect to the real world.
Outside, the children had the opportunity to explore Data Handling through the use of human bar graphs and pie charts. I think this may have been the highlight of the week for them! The boys and girls had the opportunity of a PE lesson through the use of maths by completing 'BODMAS Bounce'.
Within the classroom, the children had lots of opportunities for interactive maths games through a carousel of activities. Each group activity consisted of a different learning area in maths. Shared lessons were enjoyed through Countdown and the '2025' Challenge. We ended the day with 'Beat the Buzzer' - even the adults had super fun with this and got maybe a little too competitive!
We look forward to tomorrow as we will get to see everyone's Maths games, that they've been working on at home all week. We will look at all the ways they have been using maths through their 'I Use Maths' sheet.
