Our class had a fantastic time celebrating Pancake Tuesday! We began the day by learning all about Shrove Tuesday—also known as Pancake Tuesday—and why it has traditionally been marked with cooking and enjoying pancakes. After exploring its history and meaning, we rolled up our sleeves and followed a recipe to make our own delicious pancakes. Once we’d finished cooking, we completed a shared writing activity on writing instructions to make pancakes. The best part of all was getting to eat the pancakes we had made! It was a fun, hands-on learning experience and the whole class really enjoyed the day.
