P7 are reaching the end of the historical aspect of their Crime and Punishment topic. Yesterday, they examined a number of case studies from the Victorian era. Pupils matched crimes with possible punishments from that era. They were asked to take into account the age of offenders, the context of their crime, and the possibility of reoffending. Some pupils were very empathetic with their judgements, whilst others cast much more ruthless sentences!
